Mission
INspired people immersed in community intersecting our world
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free …”
Luke 4.18

The Veronica Springs Community is the maturing of a 21st century church that equips Christ-followers to minister the whole gospel. We know that healing is something we see God do the most in our community. We know God heals us when our faith is faint or broken. We know that when we cannot see God clearly at work He can heal our eyes of faith. We know he helps us walk in freedom – which means, the experience of leaving guilt and depression aside to take up joy and peace.
As those who have been forgiven, given faith and made lighter of heart through the life of Jesus, we are:
- Pursuing those who are captured, blind and oppressed by faithlessness in relationship to God.
- Pursuing those who are physically and emotionally bound, blind and oppressed.
- Introducing our neighbors to Jesus, who releases us from bondage and gives us sight of faith and healing.
- Recognizing our calling to be a united community within the greater Body of Christ, the Church.
“For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease. Though its root grows old in the earth, and its stump dies in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth branches like a young plant.” Job 14.7-9
This text paints a picture of this church, and our ongoing commitment to see God working in our community, our city, as well as our partnership with the Church in Africa, and Nicaragua. We are experiencing the sprouting of a new branch growing out of this family tree of faith begun in 1874. This faithful congregation is seeing new life reach out from the deeply-rooted foundations of years of labor to become a new church, again.
We are the host of a multi-community movement called The Veronica Springs Community. Our church campus hosts ministries of counseling, healing, classes for families, and schools for artists.
We’ve been called to supply the vulnerable, become friends of the lonely and announce to those feeling lost that they’ve been found by the Savior. Love is How. Love is Who.
At First Baptist, membership is the commitment to unity in mission, prayer, accountability, worship, giving, serving and spiritual growth led and modeled by Jesus Christ.
